What does the Bible say about Astrology, Mediums, Crystals, and more!

Divination, Astrology, Mediums, Fortune Telling

Divination, Horoscopes, Mediums, Psychics, Astrology

Horoscopes, mediums, psychics, fortune-telling, astrology, crystals, divination, and more, may seem harmless but they are not. These are rooted in witchcraft and it is written clear in many places in the Bible how God feels about people who practice these types of evil. Our wisdom is to come from God, and God alone.

The Enemy Rules This World

Often you will find those who practice this can give you accurate information. That is because the enemy rules this world, and if he can give you a piece of information to sway you away from God, you don’t think he will?

He Has Power Too

The enemy has power too. His goal is to get as many souls as he can to turn away from God and he has many tools in accomplishing this task. One that seems to be sweeping the nation is astrology. I see it on clothing everywhere we go and it seems so many do not even realize what they are buying for their kids.

Know The Enemy

People need to study their Bible more, we need to know about the enemy just as much as we do about God. If not, you are leaving yourself open to being deceived. You need to know what kind of attacks the enemy uses so you will not be caught off guard and allow spirits into your life. There is no such thing as spiritually neutral when it comes to mystical things like Ouija boards even, palm reading, and everything else mentioned.

Does partaking in divination, psychics, or mediums open doorways?

Partaking in these types of things absolutely opens doorways. Even doing something one time just to see what may happen is dangerous and allows spirits in your life. The devil is always looking for these opportunities. The enemy disguises himself in many ways. He is after all, the great deceiver.

What does the Bible say about the way that seems right unto man?

He can come across as trying to help and encourage people and these ways may seem right to man, but the Bible plainly tells us there’s a way that seems right unto man that in the end leads to death. I have had to pray for God many times to rid me of the spirits and things I’ve allowed in my life from when I was deceived and opened doorways with things like this.

Don’t be Deceived

These are things you should stay completely clear of. You are giving way to satan when you allow these things into your life. They can easily corrupt you. Before when my knowledge of the Bible wasn’t what it was now, I allowed people to deceive me. They claimed to be Christians, but they dabbled in crystals and pendulums, and I about allowed them to corrupt me because I didn’t know the Word as I should.

Power comes from Holy Spirit

A lady had given me a crystal bracelet as a gift, she told me God didn’t mind these things that she believed in God, and that God gives his power to crystals. This is so false. There is nothing in the Bible that says anything like this. Our power comes from God and the Holy Spirit. Crystals are mere rocks. They have no power.

Divination, Fortune-telling, astrology

Does God approve of mediums, psychics, tarot cards, astrology, or witchcraft?

Nowhere will you find in the Bible that God approves of or gives power to mediums, psychics, crystals, tarot cards, astrology, witchcraft, etc. The enemy would love for you to fall into this trap and stay deceived until the end. I implore you to check the Bible when someone tells you God approves of something.

Does the Bible show approval of these things?

When you look in the Bible there is nothing that shows approval of these things, but yet the exact opposite. The Word shows God’s extreme rejection of these things. Often, many are self-serving Christians and will take a verse completely out of context to support their agenda.

What does Deuteronomy say about people who practice divination or fortune telling?

Deuteronomy plainly tells us those who practice such things are an abomination to the Lord. How can one believe and teach that they have God’s blessing and that their power comes from the Lord? He says those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

What happens when we pursue things God has warned us not to?

The Bible shares many stories throughout of what happened to those who were deceived and allowed such things in their lives. Over and over the Bible shows us what to avoid to keep us from making the same mistakes as others. We fall into sin, pain, heartache, depression, and more when we decide to pursue the things God has too often warned us about.

What does Acts say about the girl with the Spirit of Divination?

In Acts, it talks about a girl who had the spirit of divination. It says she brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. It says she followed Paul for days saying things until finally he got annoyed and used the name of Jesus to command the spirit out of her. It says when he did this it came out of her immediately and the owners realized the gain that they had got from this possessed girl was gone. So, they were upset and snatched Paul and Silas.

Are ‘powers of divination’ Godly?

This speaks volumes. One, it tells you her ‘powers of divination’, was from an ungodly and unclean spirit within her. I say ungodly and unclean, because if it was Godly then they wouldn’t have used the name of God to cast it out. Another takeaway you should notice is it does say they were able to gain from her fortune-telling, this shows you the enemy has power too, and just because a ‘fortune’ you’ve been told is true, does not make it Godly, and does not make it right.

It’s Written in Old and New Testament

There are more examples like this through the Bible. Someone who has read these things and has the Holy Spirit within them cannot say that these are things of God. And as far as those that try to say that’s only in the Old Testament, or that doesn’t apply anymore. The Bible says God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Furthermore, it is all throughout the old and New Testament including in Revelations what happens to those who partake in such things.

It is Not Judgmental to Spread Truth

I say all of this not to judge those who do, but to share the wisdom and knowledge that I myself did not have that caused me to fall prey to those going around to deceive. It is not judgmental to speak on sin. It is our responsibility to share the gospel to save those around us and let them know what is wrong.

Why didn’t you tell me?

How would it feel to get to Heaven and see someone cast down and them to look to you and say, you knew this? Why didn’t you tell me? You can counsel others out of love and not judgment. There’s a right and a wrong way of approaching things. Always approach out of love.

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

Revelation 21:8

As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.

Acts 16:16-19

Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Revelations 22:15

And he burned his son as an offering and used fortune-telling and omens and dealt with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

2 Kings 21:6

So Saul died for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also consulted a medium, seeking guidance. He did not seek guidance from the Lord. Therefore the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David the son of Jesse.

1 Chronicles 10:13-14

For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon, and the stars, which you have set in place…

Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:31

When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:6

Daniel answered the king and said, “No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the mystery that the king has asked, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these…

Daniel 2:27-28

And I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes;

Micah 5:12

Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
