Daily Prayer of Renewal

Dear Lord,
I need you in all of my ways and a true renewal of my mind daily. I want thoughts pleasing to you. For every word that leaves my mouth to glorify your name and be a representation of what a true follower of Christ should be. My hope is that people come to know you because of knowing me. 

You are pure, righteous, loving, compassionate, patient; all the things I strive to be. My flesh overtakes me in moments of weakness. I need your strength daily to overcome my flesh. Help me to stay inspired to get into your word daily and absorb the wisdom that comes from your Word. I not only want to have knowledge of your word, but I want to put it to action.

 Help me not only read and know your word, but to be what your word calls me to be. Knowing your word means nothing if we don’t apply it to our lives. For even sinners and demons know the Word, but this does not make them a follower of Christ. I want to apply it to my mind, my heart, and my soul.

Forgive me for my sins and my thoughts that are not pleasing to you. We typically cannot remove the bad without replacing it with something good; So, help me replace the bad within me with your righteousness. Remind me to die to my ‘self’ daily.

Hudson Taylor says it best when he said, “I used to ask God to help me. Then, I asked if I might help him. I ended up by asking him to do his work through me”. Do a great works through me and my life. Renew my mind so that you may flow through me. I surrender my will so that only your will, will be done.

And I conclude this prayer with praise reciting the second half of the verse from Revelations 4:8. And, keeping it on the forefront of my mind to behold your holiness and glory.
“…Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”
