Daily Prayer for Emotional Pain
Daily Prayer for Emotional Pain
Dear Lord,
Today I come to you to surrender my pain. Your word says you are near to the brokenhearted and you save the crushed in spirit. I am crushed in spirit and need your saving. I feel broken and desire to feel you near. You go on in Psalm saying you heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.
I surrender myself to you, brokenhearted and wounded, to be healed and comforted by you. I long for the day you wipe every tear from my eyes and when death will be no more. The day when the pain will be no more, and all these things that affect me so will have passed away.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”
Revelation 21:4
You say we should not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon us to test us, but that we should rejoice as we share Christ’s sufferings. I want to be able to rejoice through the pain and suffering, because no matter what I feel you are good! Your word is true, and I have hope in that and faith in you.
Help me keep Romans 8:18 around my heart, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us“. Whatever I suffer now, and the pain I feel, is nothing compared to you and your glory. Bless me with the discernment to be able to distinguish what deserves my time and pain, and what doesn’t. I want to focus on what’s important and what matters, and that is you and your word. This is why I surrender my pain to you and ask you to lend me your strength to overcome this.
Lord, thank you for your never-ending mercy, love, and grace. Thank you for all the blessings I have in my life. Help me to remember all I have to be grateful for, and to remember who you say I am.
I am chosen.
I am loved.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I am dead to myself and alive to the power of God.
Because you sit on the throne now and forever, I surrender my pain to You.
Though I will experience this pain from time to time, I will not allow myself to be consumed by it, but instead embrace you and your love for it is all that I need.
In your name, I pray,
Amen
