Daily Prayer for Discernment
Dear Lord,
I come to you to ask for discernment. I struggle to identify those whose hearts and intents are not pure. You say if any of us lacks wisdom, we can ask, and it will be given. I ask for the wisdom to discern those in my life and if they should be there.
I am going through a season of pruning and want to be able to discern your will from mine. I need discernment to distinguish your people from those who are sent by the enemy.
Romans says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect“. Lord, help me with the discernment of knowing what the will of God is, as your will is good and acceptable and perfect! I long to be able to have spiritual discernment so I can easier fight worldly battles.
I pray to have knowledge and wisdom about those I chose to surround myself with. I want to have the discernment of distinguishing between good and evil, right and wrong, and see those with evil intent around me. Help me to see through the deceit and lies of the enemy.
Lord, I too often get in a rush and try to do things in my timing. Help me to discern Your timing, over my timing. I think that I am helping you by jumping ahead but jumping ahead is what leads to chaos. Please help me to discern when it is time to be still, time to act, and time to move.
Bless me with the gift of discernment in all areas of my life. Allow me to quiet myself and my mind by spending time with you and your word to be able to hear and recognize your voice speaking to me.
Let me not get stuck in a worldly mindset, but a godly mindset. From today going forward I will work harder to pause and pray for discernment before jumping headfirst into anything. I choose your blessing over anything I do because:
I am loved.
I am chosen.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
and because you sit on the throne today and always;
I am fulfilled.
I am blessed with discernment.
